To the 10 Vietnam War veterans who are on the waiting list for the Honor Flight, Greene County’s citizens proudly say “Thank you for your service and sacrifice”. We have the money to send you to Washington D.C.
Your flight date is determined by your application number (applications are stamped with an application number when they are received). In January, the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight Board will figure out the exact application numbers that will be used to board the May 6, 2017 flight. There will also be a September 2017 flight. You will be mailed your flight information.

About Honor Flight: All money raised in Greene County goes for a Greene County veteran. All board members and everyone working on the Honor Flight is a volunteer. There is no county priority; flight decisions are made solely on the application number assigned when the application is received. This ensures that everyone is treated the same. Flights are through the Fort Dodge airport; everyone is encouraged to see the veterans off and welcome them home. Board meetings are open to the public. We are currently taking World War Two, Korean, and Vietnam War veterans to see their memorials in Washington D.C.
For additional information, contact board president Ron Newsom at 515-571-4477, board member Charlie Walker at 515-576-0671, or Linda Hocke at 515-968-4363.
Donations can be sent to Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight, 320 S. 12th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501.
Sincerely, Linda Hocke, Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight coordinator
